Privacy Policy

Charadeo has no accounts and no ads, and it doesn't track you. Your settings and the cards you've played stay on your phone. The one outside service the app talks to is RevenueCat, which checks whether you own the Family Pass.

Effective 2026-10-15. This policy covers the Charadeo iPhone app and charadeo.com. ACEFINA LLC is the company behind both.

What stays on your phone

The app keeps a few things in its own storage on your device. None of it is sent to us.

  • Your settings: round length, sounds, vibration and whether tilting is on.
  • Which cards each deck has already dealt, so new cards come first.
  • How many rounds you've played, which is how the app knows when to ask for an App Store rating (after your third round).

During a round the app reads the phone's motion sensor (the accelerometer) to detect a tilt. The readings are used on the spot and are never saved or sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes everything above.

What leaves your phone

Two services are involved, and both are needed so the Family Pass works.

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
RevenueCat, our purchase service An anonymous ID that RevenueCat generates for the app install, the Charadeo purchases and subscriptions on your Apple ID, your App Store country and currency, and your IP address, which any internet connection reveals. The app contacts RevenueCat when it opens and when you buy or restore, including if you never buy anything. To check whether the Family Pass is active, unlock the decks, and restore purchases on a new phone. We read anonymous purchase counts in RevenueCat's dashboard.
Apple Your purchase, through the App Store and your Apple ID. We never see your card, your Apple ID or your name. To take payment and manage subscriptions. Apple's own privacy policy applies. Apple may also give us aggregate App Store Connect statistics, such as downloads and crashes, that don't identify you.

RevenueCat's anonymous ID isn't tied to your name, email or any other identity, and we don't link it to one. We don't use this data for advertising or tracking, and we don't sell it.

What we never collect

  • Your name, email address, age, location, contacts, photos or microphone.
  • An advertising ID. There are no ads and no ad or analytics SDKs in the app.
  • Anything to follow you across other companies' apps or websites.

Children

Families play Charadeo together, and children can use it. Everything happens on the phone. Nothing in the app asks for a name, email or age, lets players chat, shows advertising or links out to other sites, so we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The only data that leaves the phone is the anonymous purchase data above. Parents can turn on Ask to Buy in Apple's Family Sharing settings, so a child's purchase needs approval first.

This website

charadeo.com is a static site. It counts page views with Umami, which we host ourselves and run without cookies. Umami receives the page address and title, your browser language and screen size, the referring site, and coarse browser, operating system, device type and country. It tells one visit from another with an anonymous session identifier. The counter skips the part of an address after ? or # and respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. Cloudflare hosts the site and processes request data such as your IP address to deliver and protect it.

If you email us

Messages to support@charadeo.com reach us through Cloudflare Email Routing. We receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. We keep a message for as long as we need to answer you and handle follow-ups, and we delete it when you ask.

Your choices and rights

The app holds nothing that names you, so there is usually nothing to look up. Depending on where you live, such as the EU, the UK or California, you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email us and we'll act on it, including asking RevenueCat to delete the anonymous purchase record where that applies. You can also stop the app talking to RevenueCat at any time by deleting it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and say what changed in the app's release notes.
